The beauty of free online education is that it is online - and therefore accessible to web-connected, computer users worldwide. About half of all Open2Study students currently come from outside of Australia and call more than one hundred countries home.
And like our students, online teaching institutions can also be located anywhere. Open2Study already has a dozen established relationships with Australian institutions and universities and now we’ve jumped the Tasman Sea. We are very excited to welcome New Zealand’s Massey University as our first international partner - Kia ora!
Massey is already New Zealand’s largest university provider of distance and online learning. In joining us, it has now become the first New Zealand University to offer a free online course. In the enthusiastic words of university’s Vice-Chancellor Steve Maharey, this makes Massey part of an ‘international revolution in tertiary studies’.
Joining RMIT, Griffith and Macquarie Universities and Open2Study’s many other education providers, the addition of Massey University to our fold marks an important milestone in our growth. We are reaching out across seas and cyberspace and look forward to providing you with access to other international partners in the future.
Thanks to our existing partners, Open2Study currently offers over 20 free tertiary and professional level courses online - and that’s just the beginning.
